After 12 years running the Chinese operation in Copreci Zhuhai (Guangzhou area), Copreci will open a second facility in Shanghai area.
This new facility will be located at Mondragon’s Corporation Industrial Park, in Kunshan. With this addition, Copreci Zhuhai will be focus in manufacturing gas valves and manifolds assemblies for our BBQ Division and drain pumps for the Washing division.
Meanwhile, the new facility, Copreci Kunshan, will manufacture gas valves for the Chinese residential Cooking Market. In 2016, we will set up the new fully automatic machinery and assembly lines, for the production of components for this market.
The Kunshan facility is going to be the number 8th one of the Copreci Group; having the headquarters in Aretxabaleta (Spain) and other 6 branches: Copreci Altsasuko (Spain), Copreci Mexico, Copreci Italy, Copreci Czech Republic, Copreci Turkey and Copreci Zhuhai.

Copreci will exhibit at AWE 2017, the largest exhibition of domestic appliances in China. From 9 to 11 March, Copreci will be present at the biggest fair of domestic appliances in China, that will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The exhibition will have more than 100,000 m2, 600 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors.
The AWE is organized by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA), and has over 20 years of history. This fair, with CES and IFA are the three most important events of this sector in the world.

Copreci signs its alliance with Malloca, the leading household appliance manufacturer in Vietnam, with more than 15 years of experience.
Last September 22nd, took place a strategic partnership signing ceremony between Copreci and Malloca that brought together more than 200 people, 40 journalists and 5 local televisions.
Through this firm, Copreci consolidates its commercial relationship in the supply of induction components to Malloca, a manufacturer that has made large investments in its Binh Duonag plants, and whose objective is to offer induction hobs with high quality standards, according to European regulations.

Last October Copreci Turkey, the production plant located in Gebze has celebrated its tenth anniversary, and to celebrate it presented a video where workers talk about their experience in Copreci.The video shows very emotive testimonials of women who have worked in the cooperative and highlight the importance of people in these organizations, as well as the commitment to training, transparency and participation.
Copreci Turkey was founded 10 years ago in the town of Gebze, about 60 kilometers from Istanbul, with the aim of giving a direct and global service to the Turkish market, where some of the most important domestic appliance manufacturers has recently established.
Copreci’s international dimension responds to customers satifactions, wherever they may be. Nowadays work in this plant more than 80 people. Last October 25th a celebration was held to commemorate this 10 years of work, where both workers and retirees were invited. Congratulations Copreci Turkey!

Invited by the Government of the Province of Santa Fe, a representation of the Basque Government, the President of the Basque Confederation of Cooperatives, Javier Goienetxea and the Regional Director for South America of Copreci, Danel Ayastuy presented the situation of the Basque cooperative movement in the First Co-operative Congress, held in Santa Fé, 500 km away from Buenos Aires Argentina.
This massive event, which attracted more than 800 attendees, allowed the Argentinian cooperatives learn more about the reality of the cooperative movement in the Basque Country. Copreci was the first company within the Mondragón Corporation that established a production plant overseas, in 1989 opened Copreci de Mexico in Jalisco, this was followed by other locations in Holland, USA, Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, Brazil and China .
The conference was preceded by the execution of an agreement between the Basque Government and the Government of the Province of Santa Fe, which will give a general framework for the development of relations in the social economy between the two entities.

After the 50th Anniversary, which was celebrated in 2013, Copreci keeps celebrating. This time Copreci was honoured with an Innovation award in the Hearth/BBQ components sector and also a finalist award in the Hearth category.
The awarded “Safe ignition system” ensures the gas grill re-ignition, avoiding gas explosions. The re-ignition can be programmed up to 4 times and if after these attempts the flame is not detected, the system automatically shut off the gas.
The finalist award went to the “Free flame”, a new technology that has been developed in collaboration with IHP and Skytech to provide the market with a fireplace that has a random flame pattern creating the most dynamic and realistic flame in the industry.
Richard Wright , director of Hearth & Home magazine, defines the presentation of these awards like the Oscar´s night of this sector.

Copreci has received the SUPPLIER QUALITY EXCELLENCE AWARD from Whirlpool for its excellent work on tumble dryer gas valves for the American market. Liz Doors, Whirlpool’s North American Strategic Sourcing VP, affirmed at the awards ceremony that Copreci’s effort and desire to excel in the development of this product were key to it being chosen as the winner. She also mentioned the fantastic quality achieved through Copreci’s customer commitment.
Whirlpool redesigned its product in the light of the contributions and knowledge provided by the Copreci team to improve its performance. A project that was strengthened by achieving 0 PPM in just one year, together with a drastic reduction in the number of calls for technical support, making Copreci Whirlpool’s best supplier on the American market.
This exhaustive redesign work in collaboration with the customer has borne fruit and even allowed Copreci to exceed customers’ expectations.
Copreci currently has 7 production plants distributed worldwide to serve to its customers, the world’s main home appliance manufacturers.

Copreci is participating in the CheapReMag Project (usage of recycled rare earth magnets).
The CheapReMag consortium is led by EITManufacturing and formed by Copreci, CEIT, Fraunhofer, Magneti Ljubjana, Grundfos and Mondragon Univesity to develop rare earth magnets, whose raw material comes from recycled material.

Copreci has received Supplier Quality Excellence Award from Whirlpool in the category of Strategic Components. Whirlpool has valued the quality of its drain pumps for washing machines and dishwashers that Copreci supplies to the world manufacturer.
The award ceremony took place, during the Supplier Day in the Italian town of Varese and was attended by Whirlpool executives such as Robert Lemyre, VP Purchasing Operations, Alessandro Lombardi, VP Global Strategic Sourcing, and Laura Lukas, Dir Global Supplier Quality, as well as Javier Oleaga, Corpeci´s General Director and Fiorella Cometti, Sales Director in Italy, who collected the award.
A year ago precisely, Copreci received from Whirlpool another Quality Excellence Award for its excellent work on tumble dryer gas valves for the American market. -
NRA is the international foodservice marketplace, the main restoration event in the United States, which will take place place during for 4 days in Chicago and will bring together around 1800 exhibitors and over 50,000 visitors.
This is the second time that Copreci attend this meeting, which was confirmed as the main event of this sector in USA, with its own stand.

BIND 4.0 seeks disruptive startups to innovate with 70 industry-leading companies, this year Copreci joins as a business partner. Startups will be able to present solutions in smart industry, clean and sustainable energy, and food and health technology until September 8.
Companies such as Ampo, Talgo, Mercedes-Benz, ITP Aero, CIE Automotive, Danobatgroup, Iberdrola, BTI Biotechnology Institute or Eroski, participate in this edition of the acceleration program. They will select the startups participating in the acceleration program, which will begin in early 2024 and will last approximately 24 weeks, from February to June. 12 use cases and new technologies to transform the industry Startups interested in applying to the eighth edition of the acceleration program will be able to do so by submitting their disruptive technologies in the application and, new this year, they can also optionally apply to the 12 use cases proposed by the 70 BIND 4.0 partner companies, created based on their business needs. Each startup will be able to select in its application up to three use cases, in which it believes its technology can fit. In this way, the startup is also provided with specific information on the needs of the partner companies.
The 12 use cases proposed by the BIND 4.0 partner companies are the following:
1. Traceability, tracking and integration of the production process, product life cycle and value chain.

On December 13th, Copreci signed an agreement with local partners Fresh Electric, EBDA and El Araby to invest $7.6 million in the first plant in Egypt, which will produce 15 million safety valves for gas stoves. This new plant will start serial production in April 2023. This new plant will be added to those already established worldwide and will enable the company to expand its product portfolio in the region, an increasingly interesting market.
Egypt has 105 million inhabitants and an annual growth of 3 million people, a country that is moving towards industrial modernization, where the white goods sector is a priority in this development.
Copreci has been working for many years and has been the reference for gas stove solutions in Egypt. Now, hand in hand with its local partners, it is taking a further step to provide local support for the technical and growth challenges faced by companies in the domestic appliance sector in the country. -

The 2016 Ecuador earthquake occurred on April 16 at 18:58:37, with a moment magnitude of 7.8 and a maximum Mercalli intensity of VIII (Severe). The very large thrust earthquake was centered approximately 27 km (17 mi) from the towns of Muisne and Pedernales in a sparsely populated part of the country, and 170 km (110 mi) from the capital Quito, where it was felt strongly.
Regions of Manta, Pedernales and Portoviejo accounted for over 75 percent of total casualties. Manta's central commercial shopping district Tarqui was completely destroyed. Widespread damage was caused across Manabi province, with structures hundreds of kilometres from the epicenter collapsing.
At least 673 people were killed and 27,732 people injured. Along with the 2016 Sumatra earthquake, which also had a magnitude of 7.8, it is the strongest earthquake yet to strike in the year 2016. President Rafael Correa declared a state of emergency. Copreci people want to help this.
WIWASAPA is a book made of love for people who suffered this devastation. Some of Copreci’s workers helped to write this book and many other will help buying it. The money of this collaboration will be destinated to the rebuilding process of the community of “El Matal”
