China Gas visits Copreci on...

Representatives of China Gas, came to the Basque Country to participate on the Technical Committee organized by Copreci, together with Aenor. During this stay, Copreci invited them to visit its facilities in Aretxabaleta.

The Technical Committee ISO / TC 161 on control and protective devices for gas and/or oil burners and appliances, that was held throughout last week at the Torre Iberdrola - Bilbao, was created in 1974, with the scope of standardization in the field of control and protective devices for burners and appliances using gas and/or oil. This includes residential, commercial and industrial installations.

Copreci organized with the support of Aenor, the Technical Committee ISO / TC 161 on control and protective devices for gas and/or oil burners and appliances, that was held throughout last week at the Torre Iberdrola - Bilbao.

This committee was created in 1974, with the scope of standardization in the field of control and protective devices for burners and appliances using gas and/or oil. This includes residential, commercial and industrial installations.

In this committee participate more tan 35 experts coming from 22 countries and there it´s discussed specific aspects of the business environment are as follows:

• Manufacturers of mechanical, electrical and electronic controls and the customers who use these controls to manufacture domestic and commercial gas and oil burning appliances and industrial burners.
• Parties involved
• Manufacturers of control and safety devices (Copreci participates in this group)
• Manufacturers of gas and oil burning appliances
• Manufacturers of gas and oil burners
• Gas and oil suppliers
• Test laboratories
• Certifiers.

Benefits of this committee:

• Since 2004, 10 Standards have been published.
• World-wide Standards provide commercial benefits to industry in the manufacture and approval of these controls.
• Confidence of appliance manufacturers, gas suppliers, and consumers with respect to the safety and control devices used in gas and oil burners and gas and oil burning appliances.

The aim of the ISO technical committees is to align the ISO work programm with expressed business environment needs and trends and to allow ISO/TCs to prioritize among different projects, to identify the benefits expected from the availability of International Standards, and to ensure adequate resources for projects throughout their development.

Visit of Char-Broil´s...

Char-Broil, american company leader in the production of outdoor cooking brands, is customer of Copreci since the eighties. Christine Robins, president and chief executive of the company, supported by Jeff Wells (Global Supply Chain senior director), has visited this week Copreci in Aretxabaleta.

Char-Broil is part of WC Bradley group, pioneer company founded in 1885 in Columbus (Georgia). Copreci start supplying them gas taps in 1985 and Char-Broil become a preferential client. In 1989, Copreci set up in Mexico to offer better service to Char-Broil, and that was the first international experience for Copreci. Years later, in 2004, Copreci was set up in China, and removed there some production chains from Mexico, due to the demand of this client. So, besides being preferential client, Char-Broil is an excelent tripmate in the internationalitation process of Copreci.

Robins has worked many years as promoter in Bodymedia and Philips Oral Healthcare. Consequently, both of them grew during those periods. Finally, she became the chief executive of Char-Broil in june of 2014. Acording to this visit, we have had the chance to make her a little interview, and she has spoken about the historical "partner" relationship between Char-Bloir and Copreci, as well as the impact that MONDRAGON cooperative experience has given to her, and about the role of women in several responsability workplaces in the companies.

Next October will take place the 118th edition of the Canton Fair, an event with more than 56 years of existence, which takes place every year in spring and autumn and it is currently the most comprenhensive trade show in China.
